This weekend an analyst made the point that most people in government have few skills with which to find a job in the private sector. The government has been their employer all of their working lives. There is little of else of value that they can bring to the real world. That’s what you get for stuffing the seats of parliament with people whose major strength is loyalty rather than technocracy. And now these are the people on whom we are counting on to make history.
