Cabinet: SABC "disrespecting the law" by appointing Hlaudi Motsoeneng
Jeff Radebe - Picture: GalloIn a strongly worded statement, the cabinet has criticised the SABC and called on it to "abide by the letter and spirit of the SCA ruling" which ruled that Hlaudi Motsoeneng was not fit to be hired as an executive at the corporation.And, it has tasked the communications minister, Faith Muthambi to " urgently take steps to address this matter with the SABC Board".Reading the statement, minister in the presidency Jeff Radebe said: "Cabinet fully aligns itself with the statement issued by The Presidency, on 23 September, on the matter of the COO of the SABC. Cabinet respects the ruling of the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) confirming the setting aside of the appointment of Mr. Hlaudi Motsoeneng as Chief Operations Officer of the SABC."Cabinet calls on the SABC Board to abide by the letter and spirit of the SCA ruling.
