There are a number of things that sound better than they turn out to be. Like silk sheets. Silk Sheets… sounds luxurious, conjuring up the image of sensuous slippery silk caressing your body as you sleep the sleep of the rich. The truth of the matter is that silk sheets are slippery, so much so that it is not unlikely that you will slip off your bed and fall on your rear end in the middle of the night. There is also the problem of not being able to achieve purchase as you settle into your bed. Your top sheet won’t stay put and slides off you leaving you exposed and chilly.
