This week, four years ago, on June 24 2016, the UK voted to leave the EU; 52% of Brits voted Yes, leave, to 48% saying No, stay.

It’s how democracy works. The yesses had it despite the ridiculously narrow margin that, in effect, changed forever the heart and soul of Great Britain. It has taken these past four years to work out a deal which, in the end, seems like a Pyrrhic victory.
