Khadija Patel, a founder of The Daily Vox, has been appointed as the new editor of the Mail & Guardian. Patel takes the helm of Mail & Guardian as media house embarks on a partnership with The Daily Vox to bring younger readers to the publication. M&G describes The Daily Vox, established two years ago, as "a voice for young people to create an alternative narrative in South African news stories". "I’m excited about the challenges that lie ahead, but I’m also humbled by the opportunity to lead the stellar team assembled at the Mail & Guardian," Patel said in a statement published on the newspaper’s website.
