Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, facing fraud charges and caught up in the battle between the politically connected Gupta family and the banks that turned them away, has received another strong show of support from the business sector. In an advert taken out in the print edition of Business Day, 15 business leaders in SA praise him as "a man of immense integrity, leadership ability and commitment". "We have no doubt about the need for his critical leadership at this time of vital economic importance," they say. "SA’s democratic transformation cannot afford to have a man of Gordhan’s abilities distracted or sidelined."
