Currency markets have a lot to digest this week. On the local front, October inflation figures and current account data will feature prominently before the all-important ANC elective conference begins this weekend. Globally, the US Federal Reserve is widely expected to increase rates by at least 25 basis points. The rand held pretty steady against the dollar and the pound on Monday after last week’s softening. Attention has shifted to the dollar as international politics and central bank action takes centre stage. Andre Botha from TreasuryOne spoke to Business Day TV’s Alishia Seckam about how this could affect local and global forex markets.
