When Donald Trump told the UN general assembly this week he had “accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country”, delegates openly laughed. Visibly unnerved, the US president then said: “Did not expect that reaction, but that’s OK” — provoking further laughter. Trump has been accused of incompetence in business and government. Could he have stumbled on his true calling — stand-up comedy?  Trump: Good evening, everyone. I’m the president of the US. [Nervous laughter] No, seriously, I saw it on Fox News!
