What impact would it have on the ANC if it were to contest the 2021 election with its secretary-general, Ace Magashule, facing corruption charges? He remains in his post after appearing in court on charges of fraud and corruption (alternatively, theft and money laundering).
During his tenure as secretary-general, the ANC’s present chair, Gwede Mantashe, was fond of comparing the ANC to an elephant: patient and slow to move, but when it did start to move, little could stand in its way...
