The timing of Facebook’s decision to rebrand Instagram as part of its empire could hardly have been more ironic — days later it was revealed that the photosharing app was also guilty of data privacy sins.

Last week it emerged Instagram had allowed its users’ personal data to be harvested by an outside company.
