As much as it is ironic that most of SA’s major city centres carry European geographical names, I vehemently object to Port Elizabeth being renamed Gqeberha.
Port Elizabeth already has the suburb of Kabega Park — a Westernised, or colonised, version of Gqeberha — and we had the recently closed Gqeberha High School in Govan Mbeki township...
