SA seems to have lost its bearings when it comes to addressing land reform.
The state has bought some farms for redistribution. But, first, some of these seem to have landed in the hands of elites and their proxies. Second, financial resources for land recapitalisation seem to have been misappropriated. And third, where farms have been left in a derelict or dilapidated state, some people have exploited the gap and turned farms into informal settlements...
