When one used to hear about "the collective" in SA — especially around decisions that would benefit not the general citizenry but the axis of obfuscation of the tripartite alliance — one’s blood used to boil with anger. But not any more.
The never-ending dilly-dallying around the necessity of SAA and its longevity confirms, again, that in SA "collective" means "cowardice" (or "communist"). No-one seems to take decisive actions on their own, lest they be labelled "divisive" or "dictatorial" within the tripartite laager...
