Six months ago, Jacob Zuma’s apparent instruction that his lawyers investigate bringing a case to the African Court on Human & Peoples’ Rights added to the sense that the former president was ill-informed and out of touch.
After all, during the years of his leadership SA had consistently declined to take the steps that would allow someone in SA to bring a case before that court. As a result, the Constitutional Court decision finding him in contempt of court still stands, with no possibility of being challenged at the African court...
