JUSTICE MALALA: The end of a wasted year
The leaders we encouraged to do more and better seem lesser leaders, and diminished, despite a fresh mandate in May
Here is how my year ends. I arrived in Johannesburg on Friday morning. Some friends and I wanted to go out, eat, drink and be merry. But there was a problem. The new Italian restaurant my friends wanted to go to has no generator. What if load-shedding hits? On the other hand, other friends wanted me to sample the new Che steak restaurant in Rosebank. I’ve been to the Che in Maboneng many times. I love it.
Apparently Che has a generator. Decision made. The small Italian restaurant lost out on a table of six through no fault of its own.
