Helen Zille’s tweets about colonialism left a bad taste in the mouth — but a visit to Centurion Shisanyama quickly sorted that out
You know how everyone makes jokes about that uncle. Yes, the one who spouts the most embarrassing stuff at family gatherings. The one who starts the family feuds because he can’t control his mouth. Yes, that one. It turns out DA leader Mmusi Maimane also has an embarrassing member of the family. Her name is Helen Zille. Does the lady not know how to keep her foot out of her mouth? I have an idea. Why don’t Maimane and DA Federal Council chair James Selfe get together, wrestle her down and take her smartphone away from her? The lady seems to suffer from a viral disease called TweetBeforeYouThink. Give her one of those old voice-only gadgets we used to carry in the 1990s. Last week Zille was at it again, praising colonialism and saying thanks to it we have a great judiciary and infrastructure. Tell that to Nelson Mandela. The same great colonial judiciary sent him down for 27 years. Zille has now joined Mcebo Dlamini, the #FeesMustFall leader who proudly said he admired Adolf Hitler. ...
