A delicious addition to the state capture story is the revelation by broadcaster the BBC that cellphone intelligence from the night before former finance minister Nhlanhla Nene was fired puts his replacement, Des van Rooyen, at the Gupta house. Sipping tea, apparently. What a delight. This explains why Van Rooyen rushed off to try and get a gag order against the public protector last week, and why Zuma also tried to get a gag order.
