Political analyst JP Landman has just done an incredibly brave thing, sending out a research note that includes some reasonably good news about SA. No doubt Landman is braced for the inevitable backlash, for the charges of being blinkered and of suffering from acute Pollyannitis.

How dare he interfere with our determined commitment to be glum about our future and our present? It’s a glumness that is surely steeped in the reality of a rapidly deteriorating exchange rate. Only the naive or uninformed would dare not believe that SA is on a self-destruct trajectory, propelled by politicians from all parties.
