ANN CROTTY: Why would anyone become a media owner?
Investing in the media now doesn’t seem to make a lot of business sense
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a media owner who felt a bit of passion for the business? What are the chances?
Judging by recent history, very slight. Which is probably why the mood in Tiso Blackstar newsrooms was a muted "ho-hum" when news filtered through about the new owners who, if all goes to plan, will be calling the shots by the end of November...
