As a democratic nation we have arrived at a place we’ve never been before. We have jumped off the credit downgrade cliff. Having stuck like a disciplined army to the orthodox route towards national prosperity for 20 years, we have now thrown caution to the wind. In so doing we have thrown away our highly prized investment-grade status. Led by the former revolutionaries at the head of the state, we have shown middle fingers to ourselves and our friends outside. They who have held our collective hand and marched alongside us on our long, slow and difficult road towards prosperity.
