The tips sent out by the City of Cape Town are hysterically funny sometimes. The latest one on X reads: “Save energy this summer by opening your curtains to let in natural light, drying clothes outside, and turning down your geyser.”
Open your curtains to let in natural light ... What does the city think people are doing? Holing up in the dark, depressed and waiting for the Great Cape Independence Day so that they can emerge like cautious squirrels, blinking in the new light, finally set free to roam the city’s restaurants and beaches? ..
