Accenture. The single most important issue to invest for in a business is the one of sustainable organic growth. While evolving technology will always create new opportunities for growth, Accenture is one of the few examples where their particular services in technology will always be needed to assist clients into new technological developments. While all technology may not be sustainable, Accenture’s services in technology should be. They have an outstanding record in this context thus far.
Which talent would you most like to have?
The ability to allocate one’s time and effort wisely and most productively.
What was your first-ever job?
Actuarial clerk. Then I discovered the more exciting asset side of the balance sheet.
If you could fix one thing in SA today, what would it be?
Most countries have room for improvement on the education front. SA, in particular, has some catching up to do.
What’s the best investment you’ve ever made?
The investments in our children’s education (and still in process).
If you found a lottery ticket tomorrow that had won $100m, what would you do with it?
Return it to the lottery agency, and offer my services should it be possible to invest it on behalf of a deserving charitable cause.
