It’s been called one of the "happiest" and best albums of the year, which is why 24K Magic has debuted at number one on both the top digital albums and the R&B/hip-hop albums charts.It has been streamed more than 400m times on audio and video partners since it debuted two weeks ago.Album sales were also helped by Mars’s opening performance at the American Music Awards in late November, followed by a 60 Minutes profile, his first on-camera interview in four years. The album launch will coincide with Mars’s 24K Magic world tour, for which 1m tickets were sold in a single day.The critical acclaim for the album and early ticket sales for Mars’s concerts have led the superstar to add another 15 shows to the 100 already scheduled. The album’s lead single, 24K Magic, entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number five, and the music video has had 165m views on YouTube.Music fans will be looking out for this album in their Christmas stockings.
