When the Gabriëlskloof wine estate released The Blend, a sought-after wine in the family winery’s premier range, it won the 2013 vintage double gold at the Six Nations Wine Challenge, in which an international panel judges the best wines from Australia, New Zealand, SA, Chile, Canada and the US. It also won best in its class at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show. Now a 2015 edition will be added to the range and go on sale in time for the festive season.

The 2015 vintage wine — last year was one of the Cape’s classic vintages — comprises four Bordeaux grape varieties, grown on the estate, led by Cabernet Sauvignon. "We have created a wine showing delicate violets and dark fruit on both nose and palate, with just a hint of vanilla and tobacco leaf," says winemaker Peter-Allan Finlayson in a statement.
