Pop-up restaurants are all the rage and one in the Western Cape over the holiday season promises to be especially delectable.Franschhoek’s mountain-perched wine estate, La Petite Ferme, will be open on Fridays from 4pm to 6pm, from December 9 to January 13, except on Friday, December 23. Specially created cocktails and treats will be served in the beautifully manicured gardens of La Petite Ferme — with live music. And as those who have visited the estate will tell you, the showstopper is the majestic expanse of the Franschhoek valley. The dishes are created by La Petite Ferme’s executive chef Neethling du Toit. Two cocktails in particular are worth trying: The Pretty Lisa, made with vodka, strawberries, lime juice, lemonade and fresh basil and The Spa, made with fresh cucumber juice, gin, lime juice and fresh mint. #festiveFriday
