It comes as little surprise that Paula Hawkins’ next novel, Into the Water, is one of the most eagerly awaited literary events of 2017.
Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train has sold more than 18m copies worldwide, spending 97 weeks on bestseller lists. It was also made into a successful movie, starring Emily Blunt.
So it comes as little surprise that Hawkins’ next novel, Into the Water, is one of the most eagerly awaited literary events of 2017.
Apparently there are some overlaps with her debut novel: it is a murder mystery that is said to deal with the question of memory.
Hawkins, a former financial journalist who was born in Zimbabwe and lives in London, says the story "has been brewing for a good while" and in a separate interview has described the book as a thriller about two sisters.
It goes on sale from April 2017.
