SA BALLET lovers are in for a treat. John Neumeier, one of Europe’s top choreographers, will be mounting three of his most popular works with the Cape Town City Ballet in September. The programme has been dedicated to John Cranko, the late SA choreographer who put ballet on the map in Germany.Neumeier’s works will destroy many popular preconceptions about choreographers, and indeed about ballet.
