Founded in 1960 in Durban by Stan Methven and listed on the JSE in 1989, Rainbow Chicken was South Africa’s largest poultry stock for a time.
After listing, and with the support of the Rupert family, Rainbow went on a diversification spree. A series of acquisitions, including Vector Logistics, TSB Sugar and Foodcorp, was undertaken and the name changed to RCL Foods in 2013 to better reflect the loose foods combination...
