The global co-working giant’s entry into South Africa has not been plain sailing. Barely a year after WeWork opened its first two premises in Rosebank and Sandton, and a month after it made its Cape Town debut, the pandemic hit and demand for office space dried up.

In March last year, as employees finally started to return to their desks, local pan-African property investor SiSebenza acquired the rights to become WeWork’s South African franchise partner.
