An alarming 80% of parents who are able to leave an inheritance to their children don’t believe the next generation is adequately prepared to accept responsibility for it, research has shown.

But even though they worry about what the kids will do with their inheritance, they find it difficult to have the awkward yet crucial conversations about ensuring the growth and preservation of the family wealth.

Come and hear Marteen Michau, head of fiduciary and tax at Sanlam Private Wealth, and Ilze Alberts, author of Passing the Torch: Preserving Family Wealth Beyond the Third Generation, unpack the nuts and bolts of transferring wealth to generations to come.

Portfolio manager Garth Curry and wealth manager Stuart Milroy will also weigh in as we cast the spotlight on international estate planning and efficient tax structuring of offshore investments.
