Tritech Media recently purchased a 20% stake in Geospatial Data Solutions (GDS), a firm that enables shopping mall owners and their tenants to communicate with existing and potential customers using digital channels.Tritech is a media technology company controlled by the Kirsh family.The GDS purchase now makes it possible for shop owners to promote their products on a user’s mobile phone as soon as the consumer enters a shopping centre.The acquisition of GDS follows Tritech’s purchase of Ionizr, a real-time location-based marketing company. Tritech says Ionizr is the first SA company that combines technology, the Internet of Things, analytics, marketing and digital media.
