President Jacob Zuma is abdicating responsibility for his personal blunders‚ dividing the African National Congress (ANC) and should step down.That is the blunt message delivered by former ANC secretary general Cheryl Carolus in a video interview with Eyewitness News published on Monday.Carolus was at times scathing about the behaviour of Zuma‚ whom she described as a “thoughtful man” she had turned for advice in the past, but who had subsequently “lost it”.“I just think this president has really lost it and my call on him is to just step aside and allow the ANC to do its proper job that it is best known for and that is to lead the country‚” she said.Carolus echoed a call made last week by former ANC treasurer general Mathews Phosa for Zuma to step aside.She said Zuma had “taken this country into the most divisive period of politics”.“The biggest problem I think with how our president is conducting himself currently is he’s abdicating responsibility for his own personal wrongs and ...
