The Chamber of Mines has conducted a survey to understand the investment and employment potential of the mining sector. Chamber of Mines chief economist Henk Langenhoven says that the chamber asked: “What if the South African mining sector could get back into the top 25% of investment attractiveness rankings, which is where our potential suggests we should be?” Langenhoven spoke to Business Day TV’s Alishia Seckam about the chamber’s survey, which shows that the current toxic environment is severely affecting mining potential in the country.
