Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) is studying the economic viability of adding a 98MW photovoltaic plant to its energy mix to mitigate the impact of load-shedding, said CEO Stephen Phiri this week.

RBPlat, the subject of a takeover by Impala Platinum (Implats), said it plans to spend as much as R1.6bn on the solar plant, which will also reduce the company's carbon footprint and help its efforts to reach net zero by 2050. ..
