Investing in SA's taxi business is paying off for SA Taxi, which plans to expand its all-inclusive minibus financing and insurance enterprise to more provinces next year.
The subsidiary of JSE-listed Transaction Capital finances more than 31,000 taxi owners, many of whom struggle to qualify for credit at commercial banks, and it also insures 36,000 minibus taxis affiliated to the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) and the National Taxi Alliance (NTA)...
