Big business's big knees-up took place on a balmy Tuesday evening when the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies were revealed at the state-of-the-art venue The Empire, in Parktown, Johannesburg. This is the shindig to celebrate JSE-listed companies that have done well over the past five years, and considering the tricky current conditions that's no mean feat. You can read elsewhere in this paper about who did so well - but take care not to spill your coffee when you learn that investing R10000 in the shares of little-known financial services company Finbond five years ago would have yielded about 40 times that much today.
