Washington — President Donald Trump earned $427m from his role on the television show The Apprentice, and that programme’s success projected the false image of a successful real estate mogul, which helped him win the White House, according to a new report by the New York Times.

Trump earned $197m directly from the show over 16 years, plus an additional $230m from the licensing deals, sponsorships and seminars that came with his elevated profile, according to the New York Times that looked at more than 20 years of the president’s tax records...
