Jack Welch, legendary chairman and CEO of General Electric, says he is thrilled Donald Trump is the US president-elect. "Donald Trump will show the world what dynamism looks like," Welch said on Monday at the Discovery Leadership Summit, suggesting Trump would be good for business and would deal with the overregulation and tax burdens crippling business. Welch was chairman and CEO of GE from 1981 to 2001, overseeing an increase in its market value from $14bn to more than $410bn. He recently launched the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University, an online MBA certificate programme. Responding to a question on what was wrong with business leadership in 2016, Welch said: "I’m not sure there’s much wrong with business leadership, but there’s a hell of a lot wrong with political leadership.
