Zimbabwe's military has taken control of the country and detained its long-time leader, President Robert Mugabe. This caps a political showdown over his apparent attempts to install his wife as his successor. Dianna Games, MD at Africa@Work, spoke to Business Day TV’s Stephen Gunnion about what is happeining in Zimbabwe. The events were not unexpected, but the timing was. It seems the army has chosen to be on the side of Emmerson Mnangagwa, who Mugabe recently fired as vice-president.
