NAIROBI — Safaricom, Kenya’s biggest company by market value, has named Govinda Sateeth Kamath its new chief financial officer, replacing John Tombleson.The Vodafone unit said last month Tombleson would "progress to his next position in line with the routine rotation schedules put in place for any employee seconded to Safaricom from Vodafone".The new appointment takes effect in August.Tombleson was among five senior executives at Safaricom found in a draft KMPG report to have unprocedurally influenced the purchase of a 1.15-billion shilling ($11.4m), five-acre piece of land in Nairobi, the Nairobi-based Business Daily reported in June.CEO Bob Collymore said there was "absolutely no evidence that any of the individuals or organisations named benefited inappropriately from any of Safaricom’s commercial agreements".Bloomberg
