Orlando Pirates’ "chefs"‚ coaches Milutin Sredojevic and Rhulani Mokwena‚ have been cooking up a delicious meal of football to serve to their supporters when their season kicks off against Highlands Park on August 4‚ says Sredojevic. With the kick-off just 10 days away‚ Pirates have managed perhaps the most secretive off-season of SA’s big three. Last season’s runners-up‚ tipped by many as favourites for the 2017-18 Premiership‚ played a string of friendlies in Zambia. Rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have been involved in the Maize and Shell Helix cups‚ and in the Caf Champions League, respectively. Sredojevic said the past 10 days of Pirates’ off-season will be about polishing. His eight weeks of preseason preparations have been very different from the 2016-17 campaign, when he arrived at Bucs from the Uganda national job just two weeks ahead of the start of the season.
