Auctioneer Steve Davis loves to sell the top lots at any auction and he has drawn two "plums" on the first session of the National Two Year Old Sale in Germiston on Thursday. The New Zealander is a regular fixture at Bloodstock SA sales, and breeders love the fact that he inspects the horses he is due to sell prior to the sale. There are two lots that should attract big interest. Lot 67 is a Silvano colt from Winterbach Stud (as agent) who is a full brother to the useful performer Gothic and half-brother to the nine-time winner, Tandragee. Lot 124 is a Var filly from Wilgerbosdrift and half-sister to top filly Nightingale, who won last season’s Klawervlei Majorca Stakes and ran fourth in the Vodacom Durban July. A total of 474 two-year-olds will come under the hammer of Davis, Andrew Miller and Graeme Hawkins on Thursday and Friday. The start for both sessions is 11am.
