Summerhill Stud kicks off a big month on Tuesday when the famous Mooi River farm may have as many as five representatives in the final field for the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile at Turffontein on November 5. The month comes to a climax on November 24 and 25 when the stud will have a large draft at the Emperors Palace Joburg Ready-To-Run sale which will be held at the Randjesfontein training centre in Midrand. "Summerhill’s connectivity with the Charity Mile dates back several decades to the time when the race was still celebrated as the grade1 Germiston November Handicap inaugurated in 1968. In those days and to this day, it is the first major feature event of the new racing season," enthused Summerhill supremo Mick Goss.
