SINGAPORE — Trainer Pat Shaw and owner Fred Crabbia were all smiles on Thursday after Guitar Man and Slew Per Lode both drew favourable starting berths for Sunday’s $3m Singapore Airlines Cup."That’ll do nicely — now the big question is whether the two of them will stay the 2,000m," said Shaw at the big race draw."Much depends on the pace of the race — if they go slow and make it a sprint finish it will suit us, but a fast-run race might find them wanting at the end," added Shaw, who won the 1995 Durban July with Teal.The jockey arrangements are giving Shaw some confidence with four-time Singapore champion Joao Moreira booked for Guitar Man and former champion South African apprentice Nooresh Juglall on Slew Per Lode.
