Forgotten Proteas fast bowler Morné Morkel and spinner Aaron Phangiso are in the reckoning for places in SA’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in England in June. Morkel played his first competitive match in almost three months when the Titans lost to the Dolphins by five wickets in the Momentum 1-Day Cup on Friday as he began the process of proving his fitness. Speaking after he watched Morkel in action against the Dolphins‚ Cricket SA convener of selectors Linda Zondi said he was happy with Morkel’s performance. "I am comfortable where he is at the moment in terms of fitness‚" he said. "I had to come to see him play for myself and not to rely on information from other people. He brings a lot of experience to any side and it is important for people to note that everyone who is playing franchise cricket is in the running for a place in the Champions Trophy squad."
