The Visual Side 

Political leaders, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, visited polling stations across the country to cast their votes in this year’s highly contested local government elections. Some leaders, including the president, were in attendance with their spouses.

The Independent Electoral Commission says it's happy with how the local government elections have gone despite some technical glitches and allegations of tampering with ballot boxes. IEC's Sy Mamabolo fills us in on the latest.

Alexandra residents took to the area’s polling stations early on November 1, to cast their votes in the municipal elections. Many residents are dissatisfied with service delivery in the area and hope their votes will bring change.

Cape Town residents took to the polls to make their mark on who they think should be in charge of their local municipalities. We spoke to with some of the residents after they voted on November 1 2021. #LGE2021 #LGE #SAElections2021
