ANC deputy president Paul Mashatile has maintained his opposition to disbanding the party’s KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng provincial executive committees (PECs) in the wake of their poor showing in the May general election.

The meetings with the structures were not solely aimed at disbanding them, Mashatile said in KwaZulu-Natal a day after the ANC national working committee’s meeting with the Gauteng PEC. ..
