President Jacob Zuma has once again publicly displayed his support for ANC presidential hopeful Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. Emboldened by his survival of yet another attempt by opposition parties to remove him from office through a motion of no confidence in Parliament, Zuma joined the crowds at Wednesday’s Women’s Day celebrations in Kimberley as they sang "we are ready for Nkosazana". Zuma publicly backed his ex-wife for the first time at an event in KwaZulu-Natal in May, telling his audience, "She is bold and you can’t fool her. She is someone you can trust." The ANC leadership has been critical of members who endorsed their preferred candidates ahead of the official start of campaigns as the party gears up for its elective congress in December.
