IN AN unexpected move, outgoing Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa will not return as a councillor, despite the ANC earlier stating he would serve under mayoral candidate Thoko Didiza.The ANC in Gauteng had not endorsed Ramokgopa, who is also the party’s regional chairman in Tshwane, to continue in his role as mayor due to intense factional battles between him and his deputy Mapiti Matsena that split the region.
