BUSINESSMAN Herman Mashaba has come out in support of Mmusi Maimane to lead the Democratic Alliance (DA).Mr Maimane looks set to emerge as Helen Zille’s successor at the party’s national congress in Port Elizabeth next weekend."Leadership is about commitment to the party and the nation. In all the years I have known Mmusi (Maimane), he has demonstrated his keen allegiance to the country and its people," Mr Mashaba, Black Like Me founder and DA member, said."He has pledged himself to developing entrepreneurship and job creation, which are the key drivers of economic success."He said Mr Maimane’s bid to lead the official opposition comes at a time when leadership in SA is "sorely lacking"."I offer my full support to his bid, confident that his vision is aligned with the values enshrined in our Constitution," he said.Mr Maimane is being challenged for the leadership of the party by party chairman and academic Wilmot James.
